Projects Undertaken

COHF takes a participatory approach to project implementation. We work with communities to identify core needs and seek ways and means of solving the issues identified through citizenry public participation model.

We've supported projects by providing access to cash transfers & innovative programs to enhance quality of life.

Climate Change Adaptations

With the growing impacts of climate change, existing threats to safety and resilience are being significantly exacerbated, tremendously increasing the vulnerability of those already at risk.

Resilience, Food Security and Livelihood

Coupled with a robust finance policy, COHF has a tamper-proof accounting system that has checks and balances ensuring that financial decisions aren’t made by one designated officer.

Youth/ Women Empowerment

This program empowers and creates a space for women, and youth to advocate for their rights and strengthen their social organizations, combating violent extremism with focus on the prevention measure.

Education Programs & Capacity Dev

COHF assists children who are educationally disadvantaged through our Access to Education Program (AEP). We work closely with key agents of change, such as teachers, school heads and management committees

Words From our Beneficiaries

Testominials

“Since I was selected as one of the beneficiaries of this fisheries project, my life and that of my family has tremendously improved. With the monthly cash I have been receiving, I have bought appropriate fishing tools that have enhanced my source of livelihood.”
Warsame Ismaciil Axmed

“I was practicing Nomadic pastoralism before this livestock project intervention. Almost all of my animals died due to prolonged drought & water scarcity. After the intervention, my animals’ health improved due to the supplement feeding because of using range cubes that I received.”
Maryan Cilm Muuse
Tuulo Barwaaqo, Somaliland
“Prior to the intervention, I had lost most of my livestock to diseases which was our only source of livelihood. My family was left in a crumbling state. However, since the beginning of the project, we have received livestock inputs, nutrition training and cash interventions. We are so grateful.”
