Candle of Hope Foundation (COHF) is a multi-faceted women-led organization that has been operational in Somaliland and Kenya since 2016 implementing humanitarian & development initiatives through community-initiated programs that enhance empowerment, sustainability and resilience.
Projects Undertaken
COHF takes a participatory approach to project implementation. We work with communities to identify core needs and seek ways and means of solving the issues identified through citizenry public participation model.
With the growing impacts of climate change, existing threats to safety and resilience are being significantly exacerbated, tremendously increasing the vulnerability of those already at risk.
Coupled with a robust finance policy, COHF has a tamper-proof accounting system that has checks and balances ensuring that financial decisions aren’t made by one designated officer.

COHF is a member of IFRC and has signed on The Code of Conduct for the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement in Disaster Relief; it takes cognizance of the rights of all people affected by disasters and supports them in reconstruction and recovery.
