EDUCATION PROGRAMS & CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT

ACCESS TO EDUCATION PROGRAM

COHF assists children who are educationally disadvantaged through our Access to Education Program (AEP). AEP in particular targets children who miss out on formal education due to conflict-related challenges (IDPs, Refugees/Returnees) or marginalized groups such as nomadic communities with emphasis given to promoting the participation of girl child in basic education.

We are working closely with key agents of change, such as teachers, school heads and management committees to develop innovations that improve the quality of education.

To encourage learners to stay in school, we also have assimilated school feeding programs to ensure a supportive and nurturing environment for underserved children.

TRAINING & CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT

COHF provides support to institutions, civil society organizations and other stakeholders in developing capacity on mainstreaming sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), its prevention, risk mitigation and response strategies.

We also focus on awareness raising against the risks of female genital mutilation (FGM) and its health consequences. We usually target religious, local and administrative leaders as opinion-makers to influence the community against the harmful effects of FGM.
