Prevention

COHF uses value-based trainings targeting trafficking hotspots as a principal tool to prevent a possible trafficking occurrence.

Rescue, Protection and Prosecution

We regularly collaborate with the law enforcement officials to conduct joint rescue operations. COHF also works with the identified shelter homes to provide a safe and healing environment for the rescued victims while offering psychosocial support and therapeutic programs to aid the healing process. To ensure that victims find justice, we cooperate with relevant agencies for investigations and prosecution of the perpetrators.

Rehabilitation and Re-integration

In order to prevent re-exploitation of rescued victims, COHF offers life-skills & vocational training to assist the victims to gain dignified livelihood so as to breaks the cycles of poverty and social exclusion.

Connecting Grassroots Action to Global Studies

Fatuma recently secured the prestigious Malmö University Master’s Scholarship in Sweden to pursue a two-year Master’s Programme in Leadership and Organisation. Her studies focus on how non-profit and public sectors navigate complex global shifts, including power structural resistance, gender equality, and social sustainability—challenges she tackled daily at Candle of Hope.

A Cornerstone of Our Mission

During her impactful tenure as a Social Worker, Fatuma was a cornerstone of our community programs in Nairobi. She spearheaded grassroots movements to prevent gender-based violence, trained local women entrepreneurs, and provided crucial psychosocial support to vulnerable survivors.
